ZIP format is used for storing files, compressed (or "zipped") using the most basic Zip compression. Although ZIP file itself does not contain any text, it can contain files with text. AnyCount can do "on the fly" extraction and counting of files from .ZIP archives, including archives protected with password.

Therefore, if you would like to perform counts of files in the archive (e.g., which you have just received from client), you do not need to extract them first. Add archive to AnyCount as you usually add individual files and the program will count them.
